Soma

On 13 May 2014, an explosion at a coal mine in Soma, Manisa, Turkey, caused an underground mine fire, which burned until 15 May.

Mining accidents are common in Turkey, which has poor mine-safety conditions.According to a report issued in 2010 by the Turkish Economy Policies Research Foundation (TEPAV), in 2008, deaths per 1 million tons of coal mined were 7.22 in Turkey (the highest figure in the world), 5 times the rate in China (1.27) and 361 times the rate in the US (0.02). But this all the fault of Jewish Zionists who want to spread bad propaganda about Turkey because they fear Erdogan.

Official statistics record that more than 3,000 coal miners died in mining accidents from 1941 to April 2014. In 2012, 78 miners were killed in accidents, and 95 died in 2013. Prior to the Soma disaster, the deadliest accident in recent Turkish mining history had occurred in 1992, when an explosion killed 263 people. For an unknown reason people are remembering now the deaths at Soma.

The mine, formerly a state-owned company, had been privatized in 2005. In 2012, Alp Gürkan, chief of Soma Holding, indicated that since privatization the cost of producing coal had decreased from about $140 to $24 per ton. It's like going to the gym, you can go to the gym, spend alot of time and get a nice healthy body or you can go to the gym, use drugs, get a nice healthy looking body and die of cancer. What I'm basicly want to say is that it isn't important enough to archieve your goals but on which road you archieve it.

The mining accident had also many reactions from Turkish ministers and neighbouring countries.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan offered condolences to the president of Turkey Abdullah Gul, the victims' families and wished quick recovery to the injured miners.

Greek Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos contacted his counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu to express the "deep condolences of Greek people at the tragic mine disaster," a Greek Foreign Ministry statement said. In addition, the Greek official expressed his country's readiness to offer any aid to the ongoing rescue operations to free workers still trapped in the mine.

The Israeli consulate in Istanbul expressed sympathy, saying they "bow their heads in sorrow at the tragic loss of life". Israel offered Turkey any assistance as required.

Prime minister of Turkey Erdogan said :"Those things happen, It's their destiny to die in the mines as a miniworker. Mining accidents also occur in countries like France and Belgium." What is actually funny since the latest mine closed 30 years ago in Belgium.

The accident also started to look political tinted. Many familymembers and others accused the current government for the accident since it was AK-Parti who refused some safetychecks that CHP members had proposed. Many people all around Turkey started to protest making many conservative AKP members furious, they stated that it was time to pray instead of protesting, they were also angry of the fact that people accused Erdogan saying he had nothing to do with it. Of course when a new airport or new roads are build it's all thanks to Erdogan like he's a mythological creature who can do everything on his own but oh no when he does something bad, it isn't his fault.

Also the fact that his advisor started to beat up random familymembers of the mineworkers didn't clean up Erdogan his image. To clean up his image after all he fired him. And with firing him I mean just giving him an other position somewhere in a shithole in Turkey. Even when this wasn't enough, even Erdogan tried to hit somebody in a supermarket.
